Entrepreneurs Unlocked has been commissioned by Defence Garden Scheme CIC to provide remote support to military veterans across the UK who are setting up organisations and CICs tocprovide support services, training, and employment opportunities to other veterans.

The first cohort encompasses people from England, Wales, and Northern Ireland at various stages in their organisation’s development. So far, the cohort has been discussing hot topics such as funding, social media and marketing, developing their brand and defining their service offering. All veterans have said how much they value the sessions and being able to talk to like-minded people in a safe environment.

One of the veterans said: “Being an entrepreneur by yourself can be challenging and sometimes quite lonely. However, I am glad to be able to connect with others who share their feelings and thoughts so openly.

Another veteran said: “Just making connections here and listening to others has helped me understand what I need to do so that I can go ahead with renewed confidence.”

What Does The Course Include?

The remote course includes group sessions, and one-to-one coaching, one evening per week for 6 weeks, although post-course support is available.

Over the next 6 months, 8 veterans will engage in 2 further Defender to Entrepreneur programmes.
