Entrepreneurs Unlocked has been named the ‘Community and Social Responsibility’ business of the year at the 2021 Greater Manchester Business Awards. We joined the many other finalists at the glittering black-tie winner’s evening, on Friday, September 3, at the new Central Manchester-based Hotel Brooklyn in Manchester.

The Greater Manchester Business Awards was back in person in its fifth year with a bang after last year’s virtual event. GM Business Connect sponsored the event, and £550 was raised for the Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trusts Charitable Foundation on the night.

Entrepreneurs Unlocked were up against some of the region’s highest-performing and innovative businesses. David Morgan, the founder of Entrepreneurs Unlocked, received the award: “I am proud and humbled that the social enterprise I set up less than two years ago has been recognised for its work. Starting a business is never easy and being able to win this award is such an honour.

“If this award enables conversations to start and it opens up future opportunities that enable people with convictions to use their entrepreneurial skills and talents to lead a crime-free future, then I will be even happier.”

The judges were headed up by Andy Preston, an International sales coach and motivational speaker. Supporting Andy was Paul Mirage, Co-owner and Director of GM Business Connect, as well as Heather Baker, Founder of Baker Thompson Associates and a Prince’s Trust business mentor, Gavin Redman, Business Development Partner at Express Solicitors and Carole Fossey, founder of Leading Women in Business and The Social Media Mentor.
