I was introduced to “P” by Emma Lane from Novus – Foundations for Change, who has been providing first-class support to him, along with the Novus team at HMP Thorn Cross, in his endeavours to commence a career in construction.

He was recently offered paid work in Manchester by Bluegyp as a plasterer. After gaining his CSCS card, he could accept the offer and commence on-site whilst Released on a Temporary Licence from the prison.

However, he only had a very limited range of tools and equipment, so I am delighted to say that he was able to be provided with the items from my Build Back Up project.

We can’t show his smiling face, but he said, “This is an opportunity to change my life. Having these tools will mean I can gain valuable experience on-site and have a future career in plastering. Thank you and everyone from Novus involved in making this possible”.
